Sun Protection & UPF Clothing
Can you get sunburned through clothes?
Yes—especially if the fabric is thin or loosely woven. A basic cotton T-shirt offers about UPF 5. JOJU shirts are made with lab-certified UPF 50+ fabric , blocking 98% of UV rays—dry or wet.
What’s the difference between UPF and SPF?
SPF is for sunscreen. It measures UVB protection over time. UPF is for fabric—it measures how much UVA and UVB gets through. JOJU shirts are UPF 50+, meaning they allow only 1/50th of UV rays to reach your skin.
Do I still need sunscreen if I wear JOJU?
Only on exposed areas like your face, neck, and hands. Anywhere covered by a JOJU shirt, you’re fully protected—no reapplying required.
Does UPF wear off after washing?
No. JOJU's UPF protection is woven into the fabric—not added as a surface coating—so it won’t wash out. To preserve it, machine wash cold and hang dry.

What’s your return policy?
