UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) is essentially SPF for clothing. UPF 50+ is the highest possible rating and blocks 98% of UVA and UVB rays. For comparison, an average white t-shirt is UPF 5. All JOJU products are independently lab certified as UPF 50+ and our UPF 50+ protection is woven into the fabric, never washing out.

No! JOJU uses naturally sun protective fibers made from 86% nylon and 14% spandex, woven together tightly to minimize UV transmission. Our UPF 50+ protection is built into our fabrics and cannot be washed out. Unlike chemically-treated fabrics that fade with washing, our UPF 50+ sun protection comes from the fibers in our fabric and the way they are knit together.

JOJU uses European sizing, so we generally recommend sizing up for a regular fit or up two sizes for a looser fit. We designed JOJU with a flattering, slimmer European cut—but if you prefer a looser fit, simply size up. We offer easy returns and exchanges if the fit isn't perfect.

The Laguna Waist Length is 4" shorter than the regular Laguna shirt. The regular Laguna is hip length and ideal for longer coverage, while the Laguna Waist Length is designed for tennis skirts, bike shorts or leggings. Both feature the same buttery-soft fabric, UPF 50+ protection and thumbholes.
